How We Test Every Prompt

A prompt is only useful if it works on a real product. Here is exactly how a workflow earns a place on BrainyPrompts.

Our 7-Step Process

Every workflow goes through the same steps, in the same order.

  1. Research the real use case

We start with a task sellers actually do: writing a product description, a Facebook ad, an abandoned cart email or a lifestyle photo brief. We check how the task is done on each platform and what the platform allows.

  2. Draft with context and variables

We write the prompt with a role, an audience, constraints and an exact output format, and we turn the parts that change (product, audience, tone) into clear [Variables].

  3. Test with real product inputs

We run the prompt in the tool it is written for (ChatGPT, Claude or Midjourney) using different products and niches, not one convenient example.

  4. Score it against our checklist

We review the outputs against the criteria below. If the prompt fails, we rewrite and test again until it passes.

  5. Human review and edit

A person reads the final workflow, the sample output and the before/after comparison, and removes anything unclear or misleading.

  6. Publish with a Verified badge

The workflow goes live with its tool and date noted. The Verified badge means it passed this process.

  7. Re-test when tools change

AI models are updated often. When a major update changes results, we re-test affected workflows and update or retire them.

What We Check

Five criteria decide whether a workflow is published.

Specificity

Does the output fit the inputs, or could it describe any product?

Pass: Output is clearly tailored to the product and audience.

Output structure

Does the AI follow the requested format (HTML, JSON, bullets, character limits)?

Pass: Format is followed without manual fixing.

Repeatability

Does it work across different products and niches?

Pass: Quality stays consistent with varied inputs.

Platform compliance

Does the output respect marketplace and ad-platform rules, such as prohibited claims?

Pass: No obvious policy red flags in typical outputs.

Ease of use

Are the variables clear, and is the workflow easy to fill in?

Pass: A new user can complete it without guesswork.

What “Verified” Means (and Doesn’t)

A Verified badge means a workflow passed the process above, with the AI tool named on the card, on the date shown.

Verified is a quality check, not a guarantee

It tells you the prompt was tested and reviewed. It does not promise any specific sales result for your store.

Limits you should know about

  • AI output varies from run to run, and models change. Results can differ from our tests.
  • We test prompts, not your store. Always review the output and make sure claims are accurate before you publish.
  • Marketplace and ad-platform rules change. Check the current policy for Amazon, Shopify, Meta and others.
  • We cannot promise sales, rankings or revenue. Workflows are tools that save time and improve drafts.

Corrections

If a workflow stops working or contains an error, let us know. We investigate, then fix, re-test or remove it. Read more about how we earn money in our Affiliate Disclosure.
